Getting Ready for your Elevator Speech Training
Elevator Speech Training uses Zoom.us, a widely used platform for video-based conferencing.
Do I need to install any software?
You need to install the Zoom client software if you have never used Zoom before. Simply go to www.zoom.us/download. After installation there is no need to sign in to Zoom, or create your own Zoom account.
How do I initiate the Elevator Speech Training Call at the time of the session?
With the Zoom client software installed, simply go to www.zoom.us/join and enter 4566147577 as meeting ID.
Do I need to use my phone for the audio connection?
It is best to choose the “Join with Computer audio” option that is displayed after you initiate the call.
In the unlikely event that there is a problem with the video or audio connection, as a backup plan, you can call in by phone via 1 646 876 9923, entering the Meeting ID when prompted (456 614 7577)
Do I need a Zoom account to join a meeting?
No. You can join a meeting using the Zoom mobile apps or desktop applications for Windows and Mac, without having to establish your own Zoom account.
Can I use a mobile device?
Yes. There are Zoom apps for Apple and Android. It is best though to use a desktop or laptop computer, with a built-in camera and a good broadband connection.
IMPORTANT: Use the Zoom.us TEST feature to make sure it all works before the beginning of the call
After installation of the Zoom client software and before the designated time for the training call, simply go to www.zoom.us/test to test your Zoom connection. Make sure your computer’s microphone and camera work (you might have to click the microphone icon in the bottom left to unmute and the “start video” right next to it to start your camera).
